Embrace

It may be a dream, she thought. A pinch might serve to prove so, but she did not want to wake. She did not want to leave this place, even if but a dream. Here, where his embrace felt so real. He had vanished; although his presence had alarmed her at first, still his touch was comforting. She hope he would return. She remembered looking into his dark mirror-like eyes, feeling as if frozen where they stood. In his arms the world had vanished and for a moment she only felt his nearness and breath; gone were all her concerns and fears, all the worries that consumed her daily, vanished in an instant with him. She remembered the faint smell of roses and the slight chill about him. Suddenly, she noticed her reflection in the mirror across the room. She could see blood like tears streaming down her neck. She grasped her hand instinctively to her wound. It was then that he reappeared. "It may have seemed a dream, but I assure you I am real," he said in a melodic and soft voice. Her mind raced, she had been certain she was dreaming, and she did not recall any vampiric motifs! "You are all right, my love," said the sweet voice once more. He moved and placed his hands on her waist, pulling her close to him. "We will be together always now," he said. She still struggled to recollect what was really happening. "I am not dreaming," She whispered. "We are very real, my darling," he said, "We are vampires as we have always been." "Always?," she questioned. "We were apart for awhile, you seemed to have lost some memory, I hoped being with me would heal you," he said. "With you," she replied, "I don't want to leave you!"

...The End...
